Deep down brown: Richard Mille RM028 Brown PVD

Richard Mille describe their new diver as brown, but it’s more like a rich burst of orange, destined to glow in the murky depths and achieve stand out at any cocktail party. The RM028 has the same technical characteristics as its previous versions in titanium or titanium with a DLC coating: a skeletonised automatic movement, a rotor with variable geometry or the free sprung balance with variable inertia.

The watch is water resistant to 300 metres, which is achieved with a three part case construction. The bezel is composed of three sections assembled with 22 torque screws for perfect adjustment. The bezel is unidirectional in order to avoid mistakes in diver’s calculations, the crown is large and easy to grip, even with diving gloves.

The RM028 is easily distinguishable by its unique style; the first 15 minutes are displayed in blue while the remaining 45 are displayed in orange. The caseband and the caseback have been treated in brown PVD and then satin finished. The unidirectional bezel, also in brown PVD coated, is microblasted.




The RMAS7 in-house movement beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour, with a power reserve of 55 hours. Functions include indication of hours, minutes, seconds by means of the respective central hands, and date courtesy of a vertical aperture at the 7 o’clock position.

The RM028 is a technical and efficient watch, eye catching, uncompromising and incorporating only the best hand finishing traditions.
